A silence came over the class as the large oak doors swung open, and a large brown wolf, with dark brown circles around it's eyes walked towards the front of the class. Gradually it changed into a tall brown haired women, wearing jeans, knees high boots, a black jacket, a white top and brown angular glasses. The women stopped at the head of the class and spoke quickly. "Right class, I am your new transfiguration teacher, Professor Gibson." She took off her coat and placed it on the desk. "Over this next year I will be teaching you many different and difficult charms which, hopefully, you will enjoy. But first lets go over some rules." She smiled and stood staring at the class, wand in hand. "At the start of the lesson you will be stood, so stand up." She waited for the class to follow her order. A few stood but the others disobeyed. She flicked her wand and the chairs flew out from beneath the students, sending them to the floor. They all stood quietly, with a few mumbling in protest. "Thank you. Next you will not talk when I am." Professor Gibson glanced sharply to two girls who were talking at the back of the class. The girls stopped and smiled at her nervously. "And finally, you must treat me and the things I teach you with respect. Transfiguration is a dangerous art, and if used incorrectly, it can place anyone in serious trouble." She stood and waved her wand again. The chairs flew back to the students. "Sit." She said walking to the back of the classroom and collecting a book from the shelf. "Please get out your Intermediate transfiguration books and turn to page one hundred and fifty two." She said making her way back to the front of the class. "Now, who can tell me about werewolves...?"

Georgia opened her book and turned to page 152. She raised her hand and waited to be called on. When she was noticed by her teacher, she smiled and started speaking. "Werewolves were in the ages of old London, and were thought to be curses. They are vicious, scary and always arise in the night (preferbally a full moon). They say that if you shoot a bullet made of the silver from the silver cross, it will fade back into a human with only a scar. Of course, that is just myth. But I suppose they are creatures of the evil wolves." she smiled.

The professor pointed to a girl sat at the back of the class and listened carefully to her answer. "Well done, Georgia." She waved her wand and the girls name appaered on a sheet of parchment behind her. "Next question. How do you distinguish werewolves from real wolves? Anyone?" She was less than ten minute in to the lesson and half the class were already falling to sleep. "You are at risk of losing house points. The answer is write in front of you." She shouted. The students nearly jumped out of their skins. She smiled. "Anyone?"

Georgia looked, and tried to do the most possible answer. Raising her hand again, she spoke when she was noticed. "The real wolf looks like....well.....a wolf but a werewolf looks more like a wild boar crossed with a bear?" she hoped the answer was right. Looking at the class behind her, she could see they thought this was pointless. But wolves are her favourite creature, and she loved animorphing. This whole subject was very impressive and sparked her brain to be more attentive.
OOC: i learnt all about that werewolf stuff from Horrible Histories, about Britan.

Professor Gibson pointed to Georgia again. She smiled at the students atempt to answer her question. "Close, Georgia." she waved her wand again and the number 3 appeared next to Georgia's name on the parchment. "Let me show you an example of a real wolf." The teacher said walking to wards the back of the classroom. As she did so, Prof Gibson transformed into a brown wolf once again. She turned and walked back to wards the front slowly, talking to the students. "This is a close as you'll get to a real wolf" she said swishing her brown tail. When she reached the front of the classroom she transformed back to a human. "Werewolves are more like this," She said. The witch waved her wand. The lights blew out. She flicked her wand again. A large werewolf flew from her wand it started to move about the classroom, not noticing the students. In fact it walked straight through them. Like a ghost.
"Notice that is has a tufted tail, a different shaped snout and it pupils are different to a normal wolves. Also occasionally it walked on two legs. Werewolves are said to also have a harsher and gruffer howl than true wolves." The professor explained. She flicked her wand and the werewolf disappeared. "Does anyone know anything else about werewolves?" she said tapping her wand on the desk, making the lights return.

Christina raised her hand. She knew quite a bit about werewolves. "The werewolf is a most unusual creature in that it doesn't technically exist except for a brief period of time around the full moon. At any other time, a werewolf is a completely normal human." She stated. "A werewolf comes into being when a person is bitten by another werewolf. Once this happens, the person must learn to manage the condition. " She had learned much about werewolves from teacher's and books. Werewolves had always sparked and interest in her. She also knew that most werewolves live outside of normal society and steal to eat. They usually support Voldemort, who they think will give them a better life. But, she knew, that Voldemort wouldn't give them anything, much less a better life.
Christina then remembered something. "The Werewolf is found world wide, though it is believed to have originated in Northern Europe. Humans turn into Werewolves only when bitten. There is no known cure, though recent developments in Potion-making have to a greet extent alleviated the worst symptoms. Once a month, the otherwise sane and normal wizard or Muggle afflicted, transforms into a murderous beast. Almost uniquely among fantastic creatures, the Werewolf actively seeks humans in preference to any other kind of prey. " She hoped she'd spoken clear enough and was understandable. Plus, she hoped she had good information.

Professor Gibson listened as Christina gave some other werewolf information. When the student finished, the teacher clapped twice and smiled. "Well done Christina. You know your werewolves." She said as she flicked her wand for a third time. Christina's name appeared on the parchment with the number five next to it. "The potion you speak of is Wolfsbane potion. It is very difficult to make... even for skilled wizards." she smiled and placed the transfiguration book on her desk. "Very good. I expect a one page essay on my desk before next lesson, It needs to be on everything you have learnt this lesson and some other things that you have found out for yourselves. Class Dismissed." She flicked her wand and the door flew open. The students strolled out one by one. Professor Gibson collected her things and made her way to her office.
(Essay's have to be in the thread in the transfiguration classroom forum. It has to be at least as long as my first post. I said she was tough. ;D)
