Please post your Werewolf essays here. I will check them. The better they are the more house points I will give. Essays need to be at least four paragraphs long and paragraphs must be at least 5 lines long. Anyone who does less will get detention or have house points taken off.
Good luck

Werewolves by Christina Parker
The werewolf is one of many complex creatures in the world today. The Werewolf is found world wide, though it is believed to have originated in Northern Europe. Humans turn into Werewolves only when bitten. There is no known cure, though recent developments in Potion-making have to a greet extent alleviated the worst symptoms. Once a month, the otherwise sane and normal wizard or Muggle afflicted, transforms into a murderous beast. Almost uniquely among fantastic creatures, the Werewolf actively seeks humans in preference to any other kind of prey.
Most werewolves live outside of normal society and steal to eat. They usually support Voldemort, who they think will give them a better life. In my opinion, I think Voldemort will only bring them to their doom. If they follow him, he won't give them anything, much less a better life. Werewolves were in the ages old London, and thought to be curses. They are vicious and scary creatures that appear at night, during the full moon. You can tell a werewolf from a wolf in various ways. A werewolf can be distinguished from a true wolf physically by several small distinguishing characteristics, including the pupils of the eyes, snout shape, and tufted tail Also, occasionally, Werewolves walk on two legs. And, some are said to have harsher and gruffer howls than regular wolves.
A werewolf comes into being when a person is bitten by another werewolf. Once this happens, the person must learn to manage the condition. Modern potion-making has come up with a draught called Wolfsbane Potion which controls some of the worst effects of the condition. Wolfsbane Potion is quite difficult to make, even for fully qualified wizards, and is said to have a rather disgusting taste. Nothing will completely cure a werewolf, unfortunately.
The werewolf is a most unusual creature in that it doesn't technically exist except for a brief period of time around the full moon. At any other time, a werewolf is a completely normal human. However, the term werewolf is used for both the wolf-like creature and the normal human. Werewolves spend most of their time as humans once a month, however they transform into savage, four-legged beasts of murderous intent and no human conscience at every full moon. Thanks to a wonderful teacher and the text books at Hogwarts, I have learned much about these wolven-like murderers. One lesson I have learned is never to be in any situation with them. If I am in this sort of situation, then my life depends on my wand.
By Christina Parker Teachers note: Exellent Christina. You have remembered facts from my lesson and found loads of your own. Spelling is exellent. Ten house points plus seven from the lesson itself which makes seventeen Well Done

The Werewolf by Georgia Blackbird [/u] Although most people know werewolves as simply creatures of nightmares and horror movies, they were once viewed as real beasts who killed savagely. The creatures are less feared in today's society but the sheer terror can still be inflicted; fear of wolves and things that go bump in the night is almost natural. The history of the werewolf can be traced back to Greek mythology, when the god Lykaon was turned into a wolf after serving Zeus human flesh. This myth helped fuel a cult in Arcadia which involved human sacrifice and the thought of transformation into wolves. Although lycanthropy is usually associated with the metamorphosis into a wolf-human hybrid, different legends include the mutation into bears, cats and birds of prey. During the medieval times, the fear of werewolves took grip of Europe. Wolves were known to attack man, as wolves during those times had no reason to fear man; guns were unheard of. In most of Europe, the fear of werewolves included wolfmen ("berserkers") who wore wolves skin and killed savagely. Germans, however, viewed the wolf with honour. Names such as Wolfgang and Wolfhard were common. As Christianity slowly gained prominence, such beliefs were condemned as Satanic. They believed to change back into a human, a person would have to melt the Silver Cross into a bullet, load it into a gun and shoot it in the palm of the person. Only then did they believe it would change back. More wizardry ways are to make the Wolfsbane potion. Wolfsbane is a very toxic herb that was used by the Greeks to make a poisonous spear to kill people faster. Werewolves are only a myth to some people, but others believe they appear only at night (mostly on a full moon). They are vicious, nasty and scary. By Georgia Blackbird[/u][/center] Teachers note: Very Good Georgia. But it seems that you have explained only the history of werewolves and hardly anything on modern werewolves. Still, very good. The words in red I have changed because they were incorrect. Six house points for the essay. plus five in the lesson. Altogether you have eleven. Well done.
